You will join our Cybersecurity team at a crucial inflection point in the company and team’s growth and evolution. As the team’s first Automation Engineer, you will work closely with a team of security practitioners, understand the way we work and our challenges, and be able to lead all of our automation practices to make us more effective and efficient. We strive to design and implement practices such as dynamic defense that adapt to threat actors in real time or understand system states or controls at scale through security assurance initiatives. You will work across all functions of the Cybersecurity team and become a force multiplier for our program.
What will you do:
- Create and maintain custom security tooling; Identify new areas for automation with several security domains such as identity and access management, threat detection and response, threat intelligence, and other security engineering areas
- Collaborate with Risk & Governance to develop automation necessary to monitor the health of our condensed controls framework and make auditing less manual.
- Improve the resilience of our multi-cloud environment by designing and developing real-time dynamic defense automation and other adaptive defense measures
- Have shared ownership of the roadmap for automation of security engineering and risk-focused initiatives
- Work across teams and identify opportunities to reduce technical debt or implement automated security testing at various stages of our development practices
- Work with members of the team to identify and automate various security maturity metrics and general processes
What will you need:
- A diversified background with focuses on security or coding, scripting, and data analysis
- Robust and creative problem-solving skills with a knack for details
- An inquisitive mindset with a desire to learn and understand new concepts, technologies, and skills
- Experience building, improving, and sustaining automation and orchestration workflows in a dynamic, evolving environment
- An understanding of Cloud computing principles, including Cloud Security concepts and best practices
- Functional understanding of cybersecurity concepts such as secure development and DevOps, threat detection, and incident response
Extra great if you have:
- Experience working with security operations analysts and incident responders
- Understanding of the lifecycle of a cybersecurity attack and related frameworks
- Proficiency with Python
- Understand data analysis and machine learning concepts
- Experience working as part of a geographically distributed team
